Brit Brigade: Puppy Parties, Part 2

The last puppy party was (again) a fluffy and smashing success! Miss Emily came to join us that day and it was a wonderful orange and white accented afternoon. We can't wait for the next one!

Brit Brigade ~ Puppy Parties! Part 1

I missed updating about the last 2 puppy parties so I'm going to do that now. Kir from our last litter is now named Charley and his fabulous new family are caretakers of a farm. We've gone up to play a few times now and here's the proof!

Our first puppy party was a bright and sunny day and I had the sunburn to prove it!

Brit Brigade: Pups getting bigger!

Many things are happening around here and the babies just keep getting bigger and bigger!

They are so birdy and just keep setting up ambushes on the doves trying to steal their food!

 Who's going to take these sweet babies home and give them a nice big field to play in?

Brit Brigade (Where are they now?) ~ Bruce the Boss from Lanai

I've been slacking a LOT with the updates but around this time last month (October 5th to be exact) I was on Lana'i for the mouflon hunt and finally got a chance to meet up with Ben who bought a puppy named Bruce from us last year autumn.

Bruce was also known as The Boss and people mistakenly believe he's named after Mr. Springstein. In fact he is actually named after the shark from Jaws. Clever, I know.

Bruce was a bruiser of a little boy when I shipped him out; an escape artist and a little bit of a crier but terribly affectionate with the tiniest of tails. He was about 16+ pounds at 11 weeks old and a solid little guy.

Charge of the Brit Brigade: Act 3, Scene 2

It has come to pass that our dogs really like having babies and our girl busted her way out of the kennel one day and approximately 63 days later we have the cutest puppies ever. Since this kennel busting thing is becoming a problem we are most likely going to be fixing either one of our Brits so this will likely be the last time we will be having any puppies.

The babies are 6 weeks old and ready to go already; tearing up birds and sweetly worming their way into laps and arms of all kinds.

2012-2013 Post-Bird Hunting Season Wrap Up

Now that all the little rascals have gone to bed be with their new parents we have a little time to breathe and take a quick re-cap on this past hunting season for us Brits. Mama was pregnant but nobody knew until most of the way through the season when she started to swell up like a fuzzy little balloon and began to waddle around. It didn't stop her from going though! Mama's gotta hunt!

The last time I had a litter of puppies I was helping to hand raise them because Mama was pretty skinny from their hugeness and I was so tired all the time...

Brit Brigade ~ Celebrating 5 weeks by going crazy

Last night the Brit Brigade turned 5 weeks old and decided to celebrate by ruining the back patio all night long. Ah, it'll wash off.


9:30 pm ~ Just after Gag Concert ended and a re-run of Romancing the Idol came on... Gotta stop watching those Korean television shows!

10 pm ~ Still going

2013 Litter ~ Week 4!

They're going on 5 weeks now and are HUGE and healthy and running amok...

Well, not always.

I guess not everyone's a fan of group huddles.

But everyone likes a meal time!

Spring 2013: Brittany Litter ~ the first 3 weeks

We had a new litter this year! A happy healthy 9 puppies: 6 boys and 3 girls. Mama and Papa (and Auntie) have been lovingly taking care of them. They're quite large for their age and terribly active. They just turned 3 weeks old yesterday evening and have been heartily ravaging solid foods for a few days now. Mama and Papa think they can sneak in and raid the food dish. The puppies will start fighting back pretty soon!

All the puppies have been starting to get very feisty and have taken to wandering around the kennel and picking fights with leaves... As their eyesight clears more they'll probably take to picking fights with legs instead. They've already started to yank on my skirts!

I'll work on getting some photos up but for now...
